Any child under 10 years of age will require a 10-day quarantine from school after a positive test.  Children under 10 are not great about wearing masks.  

Children over age 10 will require a 5-day quarantine in addition to 5 days of strict mask usage.

All children in HISD should have a significant resolution of symptoms and be fever free x 24 hours without using medication before returning to school.

The same guidelines apply with exposures to a positive household member. 

COVID-19 testing is available for students that have a positive household member or those who are symptoms. Please click on the Covid-19 Test link to register for testing. A school nurse will contact you with a time if tests are available.
