On October 14, 2025, a drug-detection dog alerted on a vehicle in the Hamilton High School parking lot. Upon investigation, a firearm was found in the backseat. Law enforcement and school administration responded immediately, and the firearm was released to the student’s parent.
At no time was there a threat to student or staff safety. Hamilton ISD is continuing its investigation and remains committed to maintaining transparency and ensuring a safe learning environment. For questions, please contact the Office of the Superintendent.
