Hamilton ISD is proud to announce the appointment of Maury Heers as the new principal of Hamilton Junior High for the upcoming school year. We are excited to see the positive impact she will bring to our campus community.
Also pictured is Shana Campbell, recently named principal of Ann Whitney Elementary, who joined us at a previous Board meeting.
Congratulations to both of these outstanding leaders—let’s go Bulldogs!

The HISD Board of Trustees approved revisions to the 2025-2026 HISD Calendar at the board meeting yesterday.
This update:
Extends the school year through Wednesday with a half day on May 20th.
Made Friday, May 15th, a holiday.
This adjustment:
Gives us two additional banked days/minutes for flexibility during the year.
Allows for a less rushed and more organized end to the school year.
Maintain Graduation on Friday, May 22, and schedule Junior High Promotion on Thursday, May 21. (Will allow counselors/teachers more time to get grades and awards ready)
